A Jenkell Sculpture in Monaco’s Colours at CIIE Shanghai 2026

Wrapping Candy Monaco Flag

At the initiative of H.E. Ms Marie-Pascale Boisson, Monaco's Ambassador to China, and with the support of the Monaco Chamber of Commerce, the Principality is taking part in the 9th edition of the China International Import Expo (CIIE), held in Shanghai from 5 to 10 November 2026.

For the third consecutive year, Laurence Jenkell is exhibiting her iconic red and white Wrapping Candy sculpture, inspired by the colours of the Monegasque flag, at the Principality of Monaco's Pavilion. Standing 40 cm tall, the sculpture forms part of Monaco's presence at this international event, with the Pavilion bringing together 20 participants this year.

Through this artwork, Laurence Jenkell combines her distinctive artistic language, characterised by vibrant colours and the twisting of materials, with the symbolic colours of the Principality. The sculpture reflects her longstanding connection with Monaco while introducing her contemporary art to an international audience.

Recognised as the world's largest import expo, the CIIE provides a major platform for economic and cultural exchange. Laurence Jenkell's participation reflects this spirit of international outreach, alongside Monegasque businesses and organisations represented in Shanghai.
