When Art Meets Gastronomy and Solidarity

Le Negresco Hotel, Nice

To mark the 180th anniversary of Auguste Escoffier’s birth, Le Negresco Hotel in Nice will host an exceptional Dîner d’Épicure on 10 November 2026.

For this special occasion, Laurence Jenkell has donated one of her emblematic sculptures to be offered as a prize in a charity raffle in aid of the Little Sisters of the Poor in Nice, an organisation dedicated to caring for and supporting elderly people in need.

The donated artwork, a 43 cm Wrapping Candy Transparent adorned with Madame Augier’s Coq Negresco scarf, was created in 2021 and is part of a limited edition of ten (no. 4/10). Reflecting Laurence Jenkell’s distinctive artistic universe, the sculpture embodies her unique sculptural language, where transparency, form and twisting combine to create an instantly recognisable work of art.

Organised by the Auguste Escoffier Foundation and the Disciples Escoffier International Association, this event celebrates the 180th anniversary of the birth of Auguste Escoffier, one of the most influential figures in French gastronomy. Established in 1912, the Dîners d’Épicure uphold an international tradition, bringing together thousands of guests across more than 35 countries to enjoy the same menu in tribute to the legendary chef’s legacy.

Held under the patronage of Michel Roth, Meilleur Ouvrier de France and winner of the 1991 Bocuse d’Or, this edition brings together talented young chefs from the French Riviera alongside Virginie Basselot, Michelin-starred Executive Chef at Le Negresco and Meilleur Ouvrier de France.

In the prestigious setting of Le Negresco, contemporary art and fine dining come together through shared values of creativity, excellence, heritage and generosity.
